鸽子，关于The Age of Innocence

你的电影观后感没错。作品就是男主为中心，以男主的思想展开的作品。

 

探讨的是“一个人的自由vs 婚姻和家庭的神圣”这样的主题。

 

有很多评论说，这部作品，就是呼应Henry James的A portrait of a lady. Henry James的作品，侧重的是女性主角。Edith Wharton 就James留白的地方，进一步探讨了同一个主题。

 

生活中，两位作家是要好的朋友。这俩部作品里，连两位主人公的名字，都是呼应的。Edith的主人公叫Newland Archer, James的女性主人公是Isabel Archer.

 

此外，Ellen和Archer对自由和婚姻的观点，表达的多少是作者本人的想法。但她好像并不是特别推崇Archer。他实际上是一个弱弱的形象。是他自毁了自己的幸福，因为他更适合当时的社会。

 

这个男主，在一定程度上，应该参照了作者的另一位一生的好友Walter Van Rensselaer Berry，俩人终身为友，却从没能从友谊走向爱情。感情没能从“脑”走向“心”，能不能说，是否终身遗憾啊？！
