New Beginnings

It was a new school year, and it was time for new beginnings. At least I thought it was. Until, across the room, I saw a face I recognized. His piercing angry eyes looked straight through my eyes and into my brain, as if he knew my deepest darkest secrets. But that was the least of my problems, it’s was what he was holding that was. The ragged old teddy bear with a mixture of mud and blood stains in his hands shot me with a fear that hit me harder than a bullet. I thought I would never have to see it again. It was best that way, especially after the incident in summer camp.

I was running through the woods teasing one of the littler ones, Alicia Steele. She was about 5 years old. I stole her teddy bear, which she seemed inseparable from so I tried to taunt her.

”Andrew please! I need it!” she screamed after me, trying to keep up.
