我非常虚心得请教一个语法问题,：

请问下面的句子该怎么用，我几个星期前的会议记录被上面改了。我很不服，请老师给我解释一下：

1）Mr Robert said the current British culture is （ was) XXXXXXX

2) Mr Robert said he has (had) 2 sons .


被改成（里面）的了，我不懂，就算他说过了，但是
1） the current british culture 一直都是那样的啊，为什么改成was?

2) 这个就更离谱了。难道他昨天说了，今天明天就不是两个小孩了吗？ 这是为什么呢？

平时说话如果我告诉你：he told you he had 2 sons. 难道不是很奇怪吗？ 会不会让人误会现在没有两个了，去世还是怎么的了？
