Usually, a woman's fertility drops a lot after 35yrs. However, it doesn't apply for everybody. Some women get pregnant and have a healthy baby at age 45-50. The bottom of line is, comparing to younger women 25-35yr old, older women's chances are less, but it doesn't mean that they don't have any chances.

No OB/GYN could guarantee anything. They just do their jobs.
