to me a month after we met. Since I knew he is sincere, honest, and matches me well in other criterion, so I agreed to marry him.

I think you did the right thing by letting him know your feeling. But don't push him too hard to propose to you. When he is ready, he will do that. You just need to let him know that your expectation is building a family in the future
