国破山河在，城春草木深。
Nations collapsed but lands stood, weeds n' trees bury cities in spring.

感时花溅泪，恨别鸟惊心。
Tears splash on petals like deep sighs, birds calls worsen my parting pain.

烽火连三月，家书抵万金。
War flames have blazed for three months, letters from home are worth millions.

白发搔更短，浑欲不胜簪。
Comb teeth shorten my hoary hair, hardly to keep a hairpin there.
