Chapter Seventeen
Well, if my arithmetic was correct, I could be a millionaire if I brokered the house deal between Susan and Amir Nasim, then recovered the Bellarosa assets that had been seized by the government. 嗯，如果我没估算错的话，如果我能促成Susan 和 Amir Nasim间的交易，然后恢复Bellarosa被政府没收的资产，那么我就成为百万富翁了。

I finished the upstairs bathroom, then straightened out my bedroom in case Elizabeth really did want to see her old room. 我清理完楼上的洗手间然后整理房间，以防伊丽莎白要看她的旧房间（伊丽莎白是作者老管家的女儿，作者从英国回来办事住他老管家的房子。)
Assuming we were going to move some items out, I was dressed in jeans, running shoes, and a polo shirt. 就当是要往外搬东西吧，所以我换了一身便装，牛仔裤，球鞋加马球衫。
The cuckoo clock in the kitchen chimed 4:00, then 4:15. I kept busy by reviewing the pertinent papaerwork in the dining room, which kept my mind off...well, Elizabeth. 厨房里的布谷鸟钟头报时4点，然后4点15分。在饭厅里我忘我地不断的检查相关的文件。
A few minutes later, the doorbell rang. if my bad luck had retunred, it was Susan. if not, it was Elizabeth. Realy bad luck would be both of them.
几分钟后门铃响了。如果不走运的话，那会是Susan（前妻）, 如果走运的话，那会是伊丽莎白。要是两个同时出现我就认命了。
I went to the door, but didn't look through the peephole to see whom Fate bad brought to my doorstep. 我去应门前没在窥视孔里瞄看究竟是谁给我带来霉运。
I opened the door to --Elizabeth. She smiled and said, "Let's cut to the chase and have sex." 我开门，是伊丽莎白。她笑着说：“让我们直奔主题，上床吧”
Or did she say, "Sorry I'm late, traffic's mess"? 或她是说：“抱歉迟到了，得怪交通”？
Assuming the latter, I replied, "Saturday traffic is always a mess," then we hugged and air-kissed, and she entered. 当她是说交通吧，所以我说：“周六的交通就是烦人”然后我们拥抱做亲吻动作，然后她进入屋内。。。
She was also wearing jeans and running shoes, and a blue T-shirt that said "Smith," which I assumed was not here alias, but rather her daughter's alma mater. She said, "I am dressed to work."她穿的也是球鞋，印有斯密夫字样的蓝T（？不会拼音），我猜该不是她的化名吧，应该是她女儿母校的名字。她说：“穿这个是要上去班的啦”
"Good. Me, too." “挺好，我也是”
Then she said, "But I brought a change of clothes if you'll let me buy you dinner later."然后她说：“但我带来了替换的衣服，如果你赏脸让我请你吃饭的话”
A kaleidoscope of images raced through my mind--clothes on the floor, the bathroom, the shower, the bedroom, the bed--哇塞，一下子万花筒般的影像在我脑海里飞转--地板上的衣服，浴室，淋浴，睡房，床。。。
"Unless you 're busy." 除非你很忙。
"Busy? No. I 'm free." I remined her, "I just got here" 忙？ 没有，不忙。我提醒她：“我不是刚到吗？”
She smiled, then glanced around and observed, "Nothing changes here." 她微笑，然后环顾四周，“什么都没改变”
"No. But I was happy to see that." I said, "I made coffee"“没有，但我高兴看到这样”我说：“我煮了咖啡”
"Good." 好的
