snow flower and secret fan--story of Lesiban?

The relationship between Lily and Snow flower confuses me so much in this movie. The relationship between them is way beyond friendship. I do not understand why Lily pursure the relationship so much, while snow flower seems not too active in maintaining the relationship. As matter of fact,snow flower almost distroy Lily's life.Lily took the colledge entrance test for Snow flower, as the result, she was forbdden to take the colledge entrance test for three years. At the time Lily gets her promotion to work at New York, she want to give it up for Snow Flower. I can understand when they are teenagers, it is possible to do something unwise like cheating at test just for friendship, but come on, as a grown up successful career woman , who would give up a great career opportunity just for friendship? That's either surreal or that's true love which involving the utmite sacrifice.

 

love is wonderful in any form. However, it is sad to realize

trustworthy men so hard to find even in moden life that women have to turn to each other for support and comfort.
