Serious: Chinese women were NOT trained to be dependent. They were trained to be submissive.
The difference is fundamental!!!
In the traditional Chinese society, or other Asian societies, women or most low-class men were trained to be submissive. Being dependent is only one of many many consequences of being submissive. The low-class men were also trained to be dominant over the women of their class, so their submissiveness is not complete. Unfortunately, submissiveness for low-class women was drilled to the completion. I was surprised, also not surprised, that after 100 years of abolishing this ugly part of Chinese history in social organizations, there are still so many Chinese women driven by this kind of submissiveness out of mental inertia.
On hindsight, perhaps this is the deepest reason for me to post in this forum.
