, it is much easier to spot problems. We had very detailed division of responsibilities. I had not dba/system admin rights on the backend but front end. When there was application problem we issue trouble ticket to helpdesk(network) or the application vendors if there was a out of box issue. If I need to import data from one system to the other, I will write a ticket to the dba group, they will write procedures or whatever means to accomplish it for us. Gosh, I hv left the field this year. but everything still stays so fresh to me.
