people are different, the title got me,

I chose to have an English name, not because I don't like my Chinese name or I don't like my Chinese decent, just that I have problem understanding it was me they were calling. I would rather to be clear when interacting with people. I would have chosen to keep my chinese name, if my chinese name was Li, Ping or Ming.

Anyway, a name is just a name, not a big issue. You don't mind being mispronounced and you are still able to understand it, keep your Chinese name, if you do mind, choose an easier English name. It's only a personal choice, nothing to do with patriotic issues.
