Don't panic: uploading fit files to strava works. these are the steps:
* connect your device to your computer
* navigate to /GARMIN/ACTIVITY
* sort by "last modified" in list-view to find your recent activities and copy the files you need to your local disk
* now go to strava and hover the plus (top-right). choose "upload activity"
* select the files you copied and let strava work
Update: Here are the steps I used to upload my run from garmin 630 to Strava:
- use USB cable to connect garmin 630 to my laptop
- in strava, click on "+" at top-right and choose "upload activity"; then click on "file" button and you will be prompted to search file on your laptop. My file was in Garmin Forerunner 630 (E:)/GARMIN/ACTIVITY/. Choose the .fit file that you want to upload. Done!
