in uk we have 'company house'. all registed companies have to send annual accounts to company house every year otherwise they will get fined.

I am not sure the practice in usa. but there should be something like that where you can get all these information. It doesn't cost much to ask a copy of her bf's company accounts. it should disclose how much he earned in the last year. Also she could find out how much tax company paid as well.
