at the career/placement office at any university of decent size. In addition, in my previous profession, the national society of the profession publishes salary data annually on different sectors for varying experience levels. So the official data take a lot of guess work out of one's decision-making. Of course, when I was still working in that profession, how much each other was making among my colleagues was an open secret, to me at least.
