I find there is a slight difference between European and America

Europeans cut the food as they eat, so they always hold the knives on one hands, and the ford the other hands; however, Americans like to cut food first, then put down the knives and use the forks to eat the food from one hand, and they may not cut the whole plate of food, but they do cut a big junk into pieces first. That is my observation of ordinary Americans. Upclass ones may be a bit different and more similiar to Europeans.
