In your situation, I always think you should lead the

relationship because you are not only the best girl he had ever acquainted but also a few years senior than him. He has the confidence to invite you to his Christmas Party as his significant other more than ask to meet your family, which is not in your plan anyway. So you are not obliged to entreat him for that matter. Certainly, having a birthday dinner is nice. He is in your hands.:-)
