现代人恋爱上自由多了，也难测多了，哪象百年前那么直来直去

看傲慢与偏见里面，男女主人公好不容易终于在克服傲慢和偏见后第一次有一个单独说话的机会，互相很矜持地表示了一下爱慕之情，我一翻篇儿，原来俩人这就算engaged的了。这个闺女就算找到婆家“出手”了。
女主人公伊丽莎白的好朋友莎洛特卢卡斯 的婚事解决的更利落。男女双方连私下接触的机会都没有，男的一offer,女的就accept.

现在社会，date很久，只要男方不求婚，女的这边的心事就没放下。互相猜来猜去。
真有约会好多年，最后还一拍两散的。奥斯汀的时代，这问题上效率高很多。
