health-system operators will require that all faculty, staff and visitors wear a surgical mask when in public clinical areas of their health-care facilities to combat the coronavirus.
The new "universal masking" policy takes effect at 7 p.m. Tuesday in facilities operated by UR Medicine and Rochester Regional Health. The policy covers the systems' hospitals, urgent care offices and outpatient centers.
Masks will be provided to visitors who do not have them.
