The former is more focused on external factors and qualities like education, earning power, appearances, etc., and the latter is more focused on internal factors and qualities like personality match, relationship and interactions.

That's why there were so much misunderstanding on both sides of arguments, and this kind of arguments will go on and on..., they were not really talking about the same things.
