2 cups of flour, sifted (用一种向小筛子的东西筛以使原料搅拌均匀).
1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1 cup butter, cut into small pieces
3/4 cup pecans, chopped fine (or walnut)
2 tsp. vanilla
Mix all ingredients well, then knead like bread until smooth. With hands roll out into several thin rolls. Cut into small bits and roll each bit between both hands to end up with a 1 inch ball.
Place on cookie sheet and bake in 300 degree oven about 40 minutes. Let cool overnight, then roll these cookies in a bowl of sifted powdered sugar.
This recipie was from my partner's mom's grandma's good friend in SF, Bertie F, a needlepoint expert from Vienna, Austria who supplied needle point work pieces and cookies to my partner's mom's family for years(many years ago). Today, I still find this cookie very enjoyable if you make it right:)
Have a great labor day sisters!
