or maybe i can also say it like this,

providing food and shelter is every parent's obligation/responsibility. We, as children, never asked to be born. They brought us to this world, they have to take care of us!! WE didn't make them our parents. THEY chose to be.

So that's the bottom line. And this bottom line should not be consider as some kind of 恩情.

However, for the few lucky ones who are blessed with great parents and grew up with lots of love and support in addition to food and shelter, you should definitely feel grateful - But I'm sure you do already! :-)
