Hypnotherapy and NLP are both alternative treatments that can be very effective in dealing with phobias.
One word about Hypnotherapy, be sure to find a qualified Hypnotherapist in your area,not just a Hypnotist if you choose to go that route, there is a difference between the two. Qualified Hypnotherapists are affiliated with professional organizations such as NGH or IMDHA.
NLP stands for Neuro-linguistic programming therapy, it is also effective with phobias. The excerpt in guaiwolf's post is an example of NLP therapy.
Lastly, the traditional route in treating phobia is the use of Cognitive Behavioural Treatment. It primarily uses the approach of Systematic Desensitization (脱敏). You can find psychologists in your area who specialize in working with phobias.
There are lots of information about phobias on line. One of the first things you can do in order to secure the right person to help you is to check out their website to make sure that the treatment of phobia is one of their specialties.
