Also in that website you can find a forum of those parents taking care of their type I diabetic kids. Most of the kids are doing just fine. It is not a life threatening disease but does need to take good care of his own blood sugar level. Actually it is relatively easier to take care of than those Type II diabetes, which is caused by aging and overweight ppl that their metabolism is not good enough to take care of blood sugar level.
So type I diabetic ppl, their metabolism is still good. It is just that their body does not produce any insulin anymore and has to give their own insulin by injection.
