Of course men could seperate love and sex apart, much easier than women could. This is the way their brain wires. A man won't fall in love with a woman unless he feels the intense emotional attraction to her, in which sex is just a relatively small part. I have learned these from books written by men, and some male friends who are kind enough to share these info with me.

Regarding how you would know if a man is attracted to you, there is a famous book called "He's just not that into you", very straight-forward and enlightening.
