One of the differences of Chinese culture and western

culture is individualism. In western culture, they try to make people believe that every individual life is valuable. But in Chinese culture, for more than two thousand years, we have been talking about "德", Talking about scarify for the country and for others. The westerners might care themselves more, but they always like to obey to the laws.

From this point of view, I agree with you 中国法制建立在道德之上，西方的道德建立在法制之上. Well said!

Which culture do I prefer? I should say "Both", If I was a high school teacher in the earth quake area, I would had told the the students to run, but keep themselves clam and try my best to keep them in order... I know, I will try to run away from the building as well...
