我的理解（99.999％是错的）：

interpellation 有identification的意思
subjects: individuals (people)
discourse: 指thoughts, viewpoints and ideas in writing/speaking

比如不同民族（或部落）集聚在一起形成个国家。不同的民族（或部落）有不同的想法 （discourse）。 但nation就是这样的melting pot。
