Margaret Cavendish discussed the art of talking in her essay “Of Silence.” It is interesting to talk about speaking through silence;in this essay," Silence" was described as a great “virtue.” For real, it is a great virtue. No matter in sadness, delight or embarrassment, silence gives people a little extra time to think, to remember, to enjoy or response to the following moment.As a word of magic power, it may help people avoid misunderstanding and errors. And it comes no surprise as people always make more mistakes in speaking and fewer errors in silence because they have no time to go through every single word in mind while talking. A successful speech such as Preachers’ exhortation involves specific technique and proper purpose; furthermore, it would rather enlighten audience than force them to remember.On the other hand, an over- long , pale and boring discourse, easily make people lose interest and patience, and confusion also can appear.Therefore, we need judgment for talking,wise as well.
