I think a few points are revisited several times and a little confusing. Also I am not sure what is ‘Preachers exhortation’. So I just assumed what might be intended there. I don’t think the preacher part continues the talk of first part. At least I am not sure what information you are trying to convey.
Here is my version; I apologize, if I misunderstood you.
Margaret Cavendish discussed the art of speaking in her essay “Of Silence.” It was a very interesting topic. In that essay," Silence" was described as a great “virtue.”, which I could not agree more. When a person is sad, happy or embarrassed, silence allows the time to contemplate and to respond after gathering thoughts together. Like a wand, silence keep people avoid misunderstanding and faux pas.
An enlightening speech from a preacher requires not only public speech technique but also a well defined purpose. If the audience is kept interested, knowledge will infiltrate as easily as the flow of water. Not well-planed long speech can wear people’s patience and sometimes even confuse the listener. In short, good speech is a reflect of wisdom.
