My writing ability, which also reflects my logical thinking, is, well, you may got what I've tried to say now.
I think Chinese is an unique language,which has both backward and good characters. The fact of this word 折腾 is hard to translate is a result of it. More pertinant explanation is the relatively low level at related dictionaries by Chinese.
