Prometheus and the Ring of Fire

 

After Prometheus stole fire and gave to humanity,

the Olympian gods were outraged. Zeus condemned him

to eternal torment for his transgression.

He was bound to a cliff and his liver was eaten

by an eagle, and grew back overnight,

only to be eaten again in an ongoing cycle.

 

He was eventually freed by the hero Heracles.

Since then, nobody knew his whereabouts

until in 2019 an eyewitness spotted him

disguising as a formation of wild geese,

flying through the ring of fire as it occurred.

 

Each of the geese stole a tiny flame from the ring

as Apollo's only eye was mostly covered.

The geese then spread the fire,

lighted up all the clouds in the sky,

burned away the sorrow of millions of people.

 

In a day, the ring of fire will return.

More than ever, we desperately need Prometheus,

the champion of mankind, comes back

to pull off

another miracle. There are just too many wars,

too much suffering, too much sorrow in our world.

雁阵穿环过，

悄将火种留。

点燃千里霭，

烧尽万家愁。

米罗普修斯与火之环

 

米罗普修斯偷火给人类后，

奥林匹亚山上众神震怒，

宙斯罚他，让他永生受苦，

把他锁上山崖，他的肝被鹰啄食，

夜晚长回，只为第二天再被叼走。

 

英雄赫拉克勒斯最终还他自由，

从此他就不知所终，杳然江湖。

直到2019年的某一天，

有目击者看到他在这个世界重现，

当时他化作人字雁行，在日环食时

穿飞过正在形成的火之环。

唉，他始终无法把人相忘。

 

当地球用他的月亮小妹妹遮住

阿波罗的独眼，每只雁都从火环

偷走一点火种，播撒到整个天空，

点燃了天上所有的云，

把无数人的悲伤烧尽。

 

再过一天，火之环将金轮回转。

我们比以往任何时候都迫切地需要

人类的守护神普罗米修斯王者归来，

再次上演神迹，因为我们的世界

有太多战争，太多苦难，太多悲伤。
