Classical Chinese poetry translation is as sticky as any. The translator can usually manage to put across the meaning, but the artistry is a horse of a different color. Oftentimes so much is lost in the process one wonders if there is any point in doing it if the intention goes beyond explaining the meaning and reaches into the realm of art.
All in all, poetry translation is sticky business.
