My friend is in China. There is not much protection for women and children in Chinese divorce law. Her life is in chaos now. But sadly just like you all said, there is not a lot we can do about it except praying for her.

Oh, sorry. You used "file for the divorce". It should be either "file for A divorce" or "file for divorce".
