The Absolute Participial Construction
 
Grammatically speaking, a participle used as an adverbial can be preceded by a noun or a pronoun as its own subject. 
 
The work having been done, they got paid. 
The rain having stopped, we got out of our tents.
It being too late, we left the party.
Her luggage registered, she went to the platform. 
The show being not very long, we shall be able to get to the meeting in good time.
