Or this:

The bridge entrance is being manned by customs and police officers.  Bring your passport or ID card to pass the terminal.

There are as many as N ways to translate this.  I am trying to stay away from the word-to-word translation.  Trestle sound antiquated (popular usage in the 19th century, like the ones used in trans-continental railroad) and may not be appropriate for modern use.  Since we are not sure of the context here I provided two slightly different versions.
