Starred by Christian Bale,the Chinese movie "The flowers of war", an epic about Japanese invasion of Nanking in 1937, failed to be listed on the slate for Oscar's best film of foreign language. The propaganda for this movie had been tremendus.
The flowers of war is the most costly movie in China up to date, with budget close to one hundred million US dollars, also the best hope for this year's Oscar prize. It may get nominations for other prizes.
