我重新抄了一遍,有三个地方(marked blue)还有疑问。第一个地方他是想说他正在那个vertical cliff的中间。
A kind of fright struck me when I looked down. I realized that I was half way to(?) a vertical cliff. People at the bottom of the valley looked like ants. I felt my legs started trembling. I couldn’t help but holding tightly onto the banister along the way to the top of the mountain. At that time I wanted to give up climbing the mountain, but I couldn’t do it, because the way to the bottom is even more dangerous, the only thing I could do was to calm myself down and continued climbing. With deep breaths, I looked up without looking at the steps that I had gone over and only kept on climbing. Finally I reached the end of the steep steps a few minutes later. Standing on the end of the steps and looking down to the way I walked, I felt a great sense of achievement. The dread disappeared and was replaced by a joy of accomplishment quickly.
That was what I experienced on the way getting the top of Mount Hua. What we are facing, sometimes, looks like a(?) mountian climbing, which is difficult to conqure and(->or,?) to climb. It makes us feel scared and we don’t even try anything except escaping. The difficulty is just a thing which looks terrible. If we have the courage to face it, it will be nothing. So when you feel dread, what you need to do is just close your eyes and keep moving, everything will be OK.
