Many years ago, we all came to this continent with a young and energetic heart, dreaming for a better life.
Now we are engaged in a great battle field with ourselves, testing weather our abilities can carry us forward and weather our dreams can long endure. We are met on this great forum. We have come to dedicate a great portion of our time here either as pure pleasures or as a necessity for our dreams to live. It is all together fitting and proper that we should do this.
But in a larger sense, English is only the first barrier we need to cross. Language is just a tool for us to communicate with others. The world will never note, nor long remember how good our English is, but it will remember what we communicate using it. Therefore, what is more important, rather, is to be able to make impacts, big or small, on the world with English, imperct or pefect the same. The impacts can be of many aspects, expressing new ideas and designs, influencing others with our point of view, leading others to follow our visions, or writing poems to move to higher social status (haha, Sorry WenQin:, I can't resist the tempetation here).
We are all created equal. We have to decide what we can do to the world, not the other way arround. So let's get up and decide what impact we want to make every day.
My personal choice today: I am going to hit the mall right now to make a great contribution to save the impoding and collapsing world ecomony.
