也响应号召,练一练。

Translation exercises have greatly stimulated the interest of many English learners on the forum, as reflected from the active participation and lively discussions. This activity should continue as it is the most effective way to improve English writing.

As you might already realize that it requires a lot of time and effort for one person to make comments and suggestions on each of the translations. Yet, without feedback from others, one might not be able to learn much from the exercise. Therefore, I am proposing to get more people involved in writing critiques on other people’s translations before the final translation is posted each week.

A well-written Chinese text is crucial for a Chinese to English translation exercise. Recently I happened to see an article titled “Paper tiger” by Wesley Yang on the New York Times, which has been translated very well into Chinese. The Chinese version of this article is well suited for our purposes. Plus, the cultural relevance of this article to the Asian-American community may draw more people to the exercise.
