关于父母的养老

关于父母的养老，说说我的情况。

九年前，父亲生病，我放弃加拿大的工作回大陆照顾了两年，父亲走后，一直留在中国照顾母亲。

老人面对的问题除了病疼和认知能力的衰减，还有：
1.孤独寂寞
2.被人骗钱。
3.看病需要人陪

我妈就被人骗钱过，后来只好我把她的钱都管起来。

照顾老人不是一件简单容易的工作。不要希望老人为你改变，就算他们愿意，大概率是他们也忘记。you can't teach an old dog new tricks。就是这个意思。我经常要跟在我妈妈后面帮她“执手尾”，帮她关灯关水等等。 A conservative estimate reports that 20% of family caregivers suffer from depression，比普通人高2倍。所以有那么多的看护殴打老人。

我以前的以前是7点起床，以前是6点起床，现在5点半就起床了。为了有时间做meditation和陪我妈上街。

我的时间是这样安排的：
5:30-6:30  meditation
6:30-7:30 锻练早餐煮一天的饭菜
7:30-9:30 工作
9:30-11:00 陪我妈去街shopping
11:30 午餐
12：00-1：30 午休
2：00-5：00 工作、学习
6：00 晚餐
6：30- 8：00 散步听书
8：30-10：00 娱乐、回复学生
11：00 睡觉
当然间中有很多procrastination

我妈今年86岁，自己出去有时会迷路，但还是保留女人的天性，喜欢出去买东西，所以我改变自己的schedule去迁就她，每天倍她上街。

有朋友觉得我牺牲个人生活和非常孝顺。但我现在非常平和幸福，而且我做的其实和孝顺一点关系都没有。这只是一种感恩。第一感谢父母生育养育之恩，我从来不owe任何人任何东西，包括自己的家人。更重要的是我父母一直给与我选择的自由，这不是很多中国父母可以做到的。所以我要回报这种恩情，和孝顺无关，我对朋友也这样。
