If he really is nowday's Robinhood,

I'd have some respect for him. But it's a well known fact that he works for Russia, that's why he never leak anything about Russia.

Maybe when he started he naively thought he could keep his independence and be neutral. But it's impossible, considering the nature of his work.

I do feel sympathy for his mom and understand how much she has gone through as a mother.
