I am not sure how you feel right now.  Your story is very touching.  Most of us would be happy to have sth so romantic in our life, even for once.  So if you have that many good memories, don't feel bad now.  At least you have the good ones.

At least at the time, he really cared about you.  Majority of American men, or Chinese men would not have done what he did.

Having said that, I have to say that usually a man like that will be pursued by other women.  Is he cute or good-looking?  Then it is even worse. 

If you are tough and still cannot get over with what had happened, you might want to talk to him again.
