I just apprehended an American friend to explain apprehend to me

After he read this: 

"leadership characteristics are hard to define, but must include

 

1.communication skill (be able to apprehend others)

2. collaboration skill

3. problem solving skill

4. skill of reconcile conflicts

5. willing to make sacrifice 

+ pleasant personality

etc."

He gave me an example: Bob called him for a job, he accepted it, means Bob convinced him. Bob apprehended him. He said it's fine using this word in this circumstance.
