如果我要表达很羞愧地承认或者是不得不承认，应该用哪个句式？

举个例子，我想表达说我很羞愧地告诉你(或者是不得不向你承认)这件盗窃公司文件的事是他干的，虽然他是我的同胞。这里应该用it's embarrassing to admit that ......吗？

我以前以为用it's a shame that ，结果发现这句式表达的是很遗憾的意思。
