In the Absence of a Blossom

:獻給一位老者

Yes, memory is a form

of fragrance, of emotional

Truth. . . .

The air in the room

was no longer Nothing

Your voice is still

close . . . .

. . . . echoing . . . .

my skin touched by air,

fragrance, homesickness

. . . . waves that came

from afar

Later

  a certain

     fragrance lingered

         revising my memory

               realigning my gaze

                          to yours . . . . . .

Did the chrysanthemums know

what they were witnessing?

Did they know that their

fragrance mixed with your

hometown accent was becoming

part of my soul?

Yes, soul is also a form

of fragrance, like Love

that still lingers

in the absence

of a blossom
