You are great! Take it easy and reading something everyday!

I am working in a research field too. After I moved to current lab, most of the co-workers are Chinese and i nearly did not say even one sentence of English per day! In the whole floor of building, just a few English speaker, they always together and I have not chance to practice! Also most of Chinese guy in my field they have very poor English and they don’t want to improve it either!

In the other night, I went to K-Mart with my son. I chatted with a checker who came from India, she asked me where I work and she said: I fell your English is not good, How can you communicated with your colleagues? Or your work needs not so many communications? I felt so hurt about it! And it took me several days to recover!

So just read something everyday and get used to native and nature English. That’s why India people more popular and easy adapt here!
