I put your hand on
where it hurts, moonstruck
beat by beat,  skin
reflecting night
tightens under
your touch

The hummingbirds
only come in daytime
en route to a faraway
paradise

Now the open wound
a symbolism
of trust . . . . a flower
opening petal
after petal
