for so long my sweetie I have not seen
my once happy mood's now under the weather
my sweetheart, my darling, how have you been
have merciless blizzards fractured your feather?

whenever my longing grows more and more
I set out on a journey with a brave face
however twenty feet out of the door
california's breeze slows down my pace

o, the thought of facing jungle tigers
the thought of toiling over those mountains
the thought of wading across freezing rivers
the thought of plowing through snow in the plains

lo, what an unworthy weakling I am
though I can't bear, dear, do not love this lamb




note: I finished your assignment ( I enjoyed reading the catcher in the rye very much. it was very moving at the end. there is so much truth about phony, in my opinion, in the book)
