学一个词：Spell 一段时间的特定天气(美语听力) ZT



今天我们要学的词是spell。

Spell, 做为名词，可以用来指一段时间的特定天气。

"The two-month dry spell was broken last night with the snow storm,"
昨天晚上的暴风雪结束了先前两个月的干旱天气。

"The area is in the grip of an early summer hot spell,"
这一地区出现了早夏的酷暑天气。

"Much of the United States is under a cold spell with no immediate relief in sight,"
美国大部分地区都在经受严寒天气的影响，而且短期内不会出现好转。

与此同时，

"Northern China is struggling with an icy spell,"
中国北部地区正在努力克服冰雪天气的影响。
