我的感觉是，你语调的问题，还是句子中间平调和略升语调不足。如果稍稍注意一下，效果就会很明显。

比较了一下你的录音和示范朗读，你可以听一下之间的差别。注意以下大写单词，示范朗读语调稍平或略升。

Why did ALF want a white-collar job?

These DAYS, people who do manual work often receive far more MONEY than people who work in offices. People who work in OFFICES are frequently referred to as ‘white-collar WORKERS' for the simple REASON that they usually wear a collar and TIE to go to work. Such is human NATURE, that a great many PEOPLE are often willing to sacrifice higher PAY for the privilege of BECOMING white-collar workers.
