一看到这部英语书籍的标题《The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop》，我就想起了海明威（Earnest Hemingway ）写过的一个短篇小说：《A Clean, Well-Lighted Place》，不过，海明威的这篇短篇，描述的是一个独孤的老人，夜深了，也不愿望回家，呆在酒吧里喝酒，一直到酒吧要关门了，才踏着昏暗的街灯缓缓地回他的家，那个让他觉得冰冷的家，海明威把一个老人的那份不可言状的孤寂刻画的淋漓尽致。我也特别喜欢海明威的简洁的写作风格。
而Lewis Buzbee撰写的《THE YELLOW-LIGHTED BOOKSHOP》，生动的记述了作者从童年，到青年，到成年一直对书的那份迷恋和喜爱。He "celebrates the
unique experience of the bookstore--the smell and
touch of books, the joy of getting lost in the deep
canyons of shelves, and the silent community of readers. "
